2. Help for the user of MOLCAS

MOLCAS 5.0 includes a number of tools which can be used by the user of the program to get and interchange information about the code, its use, performance, problems, perspectives, etc.

1. The MOLCAS 5.0 User's Guide is the basic source of information about the programs and their input/output needs and possibilities. The keywords and short explanation of the methods can be found there for all the programs and tools related to MOLCAS.

2. The MOLCAS 5.0 Help Guide includes short tutorials for all the programs, flux diagrams, list of most frequent errors, and a small number of more complex examples which are explained in detail, analyizing the characteristics of the methods, evaluating their accuracy and performance, and discussing their main problems and flaws.

3. The MOLCAS 5.0 Installation Guide helps the user to install, tailor, and upgrade MOLCAS.

4. The web page http://www.teokem.lu.se/molcas contains a large amount of useful information, such as:
   • General information about MOLCAS: versions, upgrades, prices, status of the code, patches, news, etc

   • Bulletin board to communicate with other MOLCAS users, MOLCAS FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), and a bug report system.

   • Electronic versions of the manuals in HTML format.

   • A download system to obtain latest upgrades of the code, electronic versions of the manuals in HTML, PDF, and PS formats, and a basis sets library.

   • A search system to find information within MOLCAS.

   • Contact addresses.

5. MOLCAS has also an on-line help system which is invoked by the UNIX command molcas help, which displays the list of molcas programs. The commands molcas help program and molcas help program keyword display the list of keywords of a given program and a brief description of the keyword, respectively. Remember than the MOLCAS environment and the molcas variable (corresponding to the file $MOLCAS/shell/molcas.ksh must be properly defined.
